Our Coaches
Adam Madarassy, a former Olympic swimmer, is the owner and head coach of Eagle Aquatics.
While a member of the Hungarian National Team, Madarassy represented his country at many International meets including 2012: European Championships in Budapest, Hungary; 2008: Olympic Games in Beijing, China; 2007: World University Games in Bangkok, Thailand; 2006: European Championships in Budapest, Hungary; 2003: European Junior Championships in Glasgow, Great Britain; 2002: European Junior Championships in Linz, Austria.
Madarassy attended the University of Louisville from 2004 - 2009 where he was a member of the Louisville Cardinals Swimming and Diving team. In his freshman year he received the Swimmer of the Conference Award and Freshman of the Year Award at NCAA for the 200 butterfly. He had multiple Conference USA and Big East records and was the captain of the team in his senior year.
Madarassy graduated from University of Louisville in 2009 majoring in Business Management. He then began coaching for Cardinal Aquatics for over two years where he found his true passion for coaching. He mainly worked with age group swimmers but also helped out with the younger and older kids. Many of the kids qualified to compete at States and Nationals. He was also running the Masters program.

Angelica Andara
Assistant Coach
Angelica Andara’s expertise and passion for swimming shine brightly. With a rich background as a former National Record Holder and esteemed member of the Venezuelan National Swim Team, Mrs. Andara has represented Venezuela in numerous prestigious national and international competitions, showcasing her prowess in the pool.
Bringing her competitive experience to coaching, Mrs. Andara emphasizes the importance of good technique, respect, and care in the development of young athletes. Her approach to coaching is characterized by a keen focus on the latest swimming techniques and drills, ensuring that every child learns the strokes properly and with precision. This dedication helps young swimmers to seamlessly advance to the next level, equipped with a solid foundation and a deep understanding of the sport.
Angelica brings an invaluable blend of professional expertise and compassionate coaching to Eagle Aquatics. Her leadership and mentorship prepare young swimmers not just for success in competitions but for a lifetime of enjoyment and achievement in the sport of swimming.

Leopoldo Andara
Assistant Coach
Leopoldo “Leo” Andara is a distinguished International Competitive Swimmer from Venezuela, who has achieved considerable recognition throughout his swimming career. As a vital member of the Venezuelan National Swim Team from 1999 to 2011, he became a Venezuelan National Champion and set National Records in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, as well as the 200 and 400 Individual Medley. Mr. Andara’s dedication and skill were on full display in numerous international arenas, including the 2007 & 2011 Pan American Games, the 2004 & 2010 Short Course World Championships, and the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Under the guidance of former Olympic Coach Michael Lohberg, he gained a deep and nuanced understanding of competitive swimming.
Mr. Andara’s academic achievements, with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Florida International University (FIU) and a Master of Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University (NSU), complement his athletic accomplishments. His education has equipped him with insights into the psychological rigors of competitive sports, reinforcing the importance of mental fortitude alongside physical prowess.
Mr. Andara emphasizes the critical role of mental strength, resilience, and psychological preparedness. By focusing on the mental as well as the physical aspects of swimming, he helps athletes develop a robust mindset essential for overcoming the pressures of competition and the demands of rigorous training. This approach fosters a deeper sense of self-awareness, discipline, and determination among his athletes, empowering them to extract valuable life lessons from their experiences in the water.

Peter Raffai
Strength & Conditioning Coach
Coach Peter Raffai brings a unique blend of elite athletic experience and advanced sports science expertise to Eagle Aquatics. Originally from Hungary, Peter began his athletic journey in soccer before transitioning to track and field, where he became a National Champion of Hungary in 2018. His competitive background laid the foundation for a deep understanding of high-performance training and athlete development.
Peter holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Human Kinesiology from the Hungarian University of Physical Education, equipping him with extensive knowledge in biomechanics, exercise physiology, and performance analysis. He has worked at the highest levels of European sport, including serving as Head Video Analyst at the Honvéd Elite State Basketball Academy, where he led sports science initiatives and integrated advanced performance tracking technologies into athlete development programs.
His experience spans multiple elite organizations, including FTC Soccer Club, where he worked as a strength coach and sports science specialist, contributing to multiple national championship-winning teams across youth levels. He also played a role in performance analysis for FTC Water Polo, helping support a team that went on to win the LEN Champions League—one of the most prestigious competitions in Europe.
At Eagle Aquatics, Coach Peter focuses on individual performance development, combining cutting-edge analysis with personalized training to help swimmers improve technique, efficiency, and overall athletic performance. His approach emphasizes injury prevention, movement correction, and long-term athlete development, creating a structured pathway for swimmers to reach their full potential.
